Publisher Description
Drunk, restless and excited, Kenny and Tom decide to continue their night with a swim in the local water tank. At first exuberant and elated, the teenagers' adventure takes a terrifying turn when they realise they are trapped in the tank with no way out.
Dark and gripping, Peter Goldsworthy's The Kiss is a classic Australian short story from one of our masters of the form.

The Kiss
Starting off deceptively as another coming of age story , This one set in the ‘top end’ of Australia during the build up to the coming wet season takes a turn in a few short pages from average to extraordinary that is masterful in its telling.
A harshness of life and death that’s totally believable.
Peter Goldsworthy has a economy of words that reminds me of Hemingway’s earliest work but the power of plot and twist is all his own.
I’m shook, in a way only a great writer can shake you and so impressed that for the price of a can of Coke I got to experience a emotional roller coaster that has me asking questions of Kenny and of myself .
