The Last Antonov

Katya Petrova is a journalist. She's spent five years investigating the Antonov bratva. She's also spent five years sleeping with its leader. Viktor Antonov is 55. He's killed more men than Katya has interviewed. He's also the only person who's ever looked at her and seen the truth. When Katya gets pregnant, she leaves Moscow. She doesn't tell Viktor. She has the baby. She raises him alone. Three years later, Viktor finds her. He doesn't ask why she left. He asks if the child is his. She says yes. He asks to see him. She says no. He doesn't argue. He just stays. He moves into a house down the street. He watches the boy play in the yard. When a rival bratva discovers the child, Viktor has to choose. He chooses wrong. Then he chooses right. Either way, somebody dies.
