The Love Songs Within Our Bones

With Too Late to Get Out's dramatic conclusion, Jamie Rakas finally served the revenge he never expected to deliver to the love of his life who broke his heart, aspiring singer-songwriter Eric Táo. But when he gets the chance to relish in the satisfaction, that fleeting moment fades, the same feelings he'd tried to distance himself from remain.

The Love Songs Within Our Bones picks up where Jamie left off, preparing for the holiday season and wanting to forget about Eric, now a signed artist under the stage name Táozi, but he instead feels encumbered by his enduring feelings. At a chance reunion at an industry party, and, like first loves can be, they reconnect, with the flame of their love affair rekindling and intensifying at an unpredictable pace. With plenty of secrecy and lots of lovemaking to catch up on, a romantic getaway they believed was private leaks to the media, unleashing a public scandal that outs Eric and threatens to destroy the reputation his team has spent time crafting to break into new markets.

Blindsighted and heartbroken, Eric must decide how to move past it as he continues to grapple with his departure from his family's religion and ideals. How will he overcome the scandal being fanned by the media? Has he brought dishonor and shame to his family and community? And will his relationship with Jamie survive in spite of the intense media scrutiny?

And Jamie, an established music executive, is caught in the crossfire of the scandal. While he's not at the center of the scandal, an intimate video of him and Eric plays out on the world stage. How will this affect his work? And does he have the resolve to see this through? Or, like before, will his affections for Eric let him down again?
