Myrtle Reed was an American author, poet, journalist, and philanthropist. She was the youngest child in the family and the only daughter. Myrtle Reed graduated from the West Division High School. During the studying she edited the school's newspaper called The Voice. She had insomniac and she has been prescribed sleeping drafts. Myrtly Reed died in 1911 because of an overdose of sleeping powder, which she took with suicidal intent in her flat. 

The Master's Violin by Myrtle Reed is a novel. The husband of the main heroine died and after many years she returned to her childhood home. She can't forget her past, but she is determined to stay, because her son wants to have his musical career at the hands of a local master violinist. This story is about the love stories, sad memories, hope and feelings that everyone ever has.
