A thrilling and gripping read

Each book I have read from Kathryn Croft out does the last and The Mother’s Secret is no exception. What a read! I devoured this in one sitting as I could not put it down!
When I read the blurb for this book, my first thought was, I could never imagine leaving my child if I was a mother and without even thinking of reasons why I would, straight away my hackles went up and my first instinct was to judge Eve’s character. But there is so much more to this story.
The narrative moves seamlessly from past to present as we learn of Eve’s and Aidan’s struggle to conceive. Croft paints a very real picture of this and with each miscarriage, the heartbreak. What Eve is hiding and why she left everything, only then to return, causes intrigue.
Full of twists and turns, lies and deceit, the pages just turn themselves. Perfectly plotted and executed with strong characters at the helm, and a satisfying ending, makes The Mother’s Secret such a thrilling and gripping read.
