A must read for everyone!

Matthew and Katherine have been reincarnated again and again, playing major parts in different historical events from the 18th century to all the way to the 21st century. But every single time, they have had to sacrifice their lives to save the world and its future.

This masterpiece of literature was an absolute pleasure to read! Just from the blurb you could tell that this book was going to be different. Something amazingly new and unique. And it was that and more! I loved the set up and the writing style, the characters were funny, strong and amazing, the little notes and things before each chapter became the most delicious of treats and the mystery always kept me on my toes and made me keep turning pages. I really liked how the characters were different from your typical YA read (especially shunning the gender stereotypes made me so… giddy), along with being so realistic and easy to connect to. They were very, very likable and made me actually care about them, a lot. Like a lot. No, you don’t get it, I mean like I love them, so much that I want to be them. Both.

The only thing that bugged me, just a little bit, was that there wasn’t as much romance in the current timeline that we were following (since most of it was taken up by the case and stuff). It felt kinda rushed. Especially the ending! And the older timelines were much slower compared to the “present” one. But please ignore me being a party-pooper here (I’m just not a huge fan of olden times much, unless they are very ancient-y). But see that’s the thing right, even with me not enjoying historical stuff, I cannot find it in me to not like The Next Together. This page-turner has easily taken a spot on my favourite series bookshelf! And Ms James has officially become one of my favourite authors, EVER! I am now [whole-heartedly] obliged to read anything that she ever writes. Anything.

Also I totally didn’t see the little cliff-hanger coming at the end. It left me shocked (in a good an awesome way) and just fueled my thirstto somehow get the next book in my hands, ASAP.

I cannot wait for everything to be revealed and I hope that the conclusion of this beautiful story and Kate and Matt’s lives is also as breathtaking as the beginning of it. (I’m just trying to make myself feel better about the fact that this is a duology. There's a novella yes, but only two books! *[insert me ugly crying]*) Also, I really, reallyhope that we get to see more Matt and Kate in the next one, preferably with a complete family. <3
