Discussed are the all-important trees, shrubs, perennials, and ground covers that give year-round pleasure and are easiest to care for. A chapter is devoted to each of the four individual seasons, describing the plants that illuminate that particular time of the year in a Northern garden, and the seasonal chores necessary to keep them flourishing.
