The Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco

This collection of photographic images is not intended to serve as a tourist guide or as an academic work. It is what the artist saw and felt as he walked through its grounds in 2009.


It is a reflection and reminder of the long ago past Hellenistic and Roman classical period

architecture and grandeur.  A native Spartan, the photographer imagines himself living in that time and what he might have visually and emotionally sensed.


As with most of his works, he finds inevitable subtle connections between manmade and

natural works of art, as a humble flowering bush presents itself between two overwhelming Corinthian columns (image 14).
