Harlan Valeri is the world's first and only indetective. As far as he's aware. He must be Sydney's first and only, or he'd have to change the lettering on the door. He is without doubt a Sydney-based indetective.

Keeping people's secrets secret can be a lucrative, dangerous and sometimes hilarious profession. But when Harlan is hired to thwart an attractive young reporter trying to expose corruption in the high-profile charity Celebrities Care, he finds himself torn, keeping secrets of his own and being swept up in a crusade to rescue the charity from the unscrupulous hands of a megalomaniacal celebrity agent in a cravat.
