This Series consists of books each containing their own themes all together create remarkable story of Josie Cully and her journey with the discovery of magic, wishes, nobles and kings - kingdoms with there politics and corruption. She works hard to keep her promise to the palace servants to help them find their memories they lost from the sorcerers magic power.
Through their travels to other state on the Fist Peninsula to find information about the servants pasts. With this Josie, her friend Meg from the village Mull and few palace servants they discover that they are targets for mercenaries, authorities and other high nobles. They later discovered a blood heir- king are among the palace servants. This comes to as a shock to the entourage. Soon this information they grained on their trip provides helpful and puts end to a war saving bloodshed.
This is a story with many aspects that provide the the reader with clear understanding of the events and their roles that assist Josie to find her partner. Her lover Dane, nicknamed Hammer, gives Josie a place to stay as-well as providing her with a new found friend in the palace as her family.
This is a series that requires to be mentioned as a highly recommended series with the logical, fair female lead Josie Cully. With her virtues, values and personality she is living prove that women as just as capable as men. Later with help from the servant, rightful heir to the Glancia throne, they legalise that women are allowed to join the Collage study medicine and allow women to take on leader roles.
This book is empowering and focuses on the fact that anything can be achieved while still displaying kindness, fairness, dismissing hattest and revenge, .... In summary sticking to ones ethical - moral - values in the most dire situation is the best course of action with the rewards being far sweeter than joining the heartlessness and hatred of others.
With such a remarkable personality from the author C.J. Archer leaves little to dislike main character Josie Cully, the midwife of Mull and daughter of a Doctor who puts his duty of care before all else.
