Publisher Description
He just wanted to protect his family's ranch. Now he's the galaxy's most valuable abductee.
Alex Hawke didn't ask for trouble—he just stood watch over his sheep on a moonless night. But when a stealth freighter snatches the entire flock—and him along with it—he wakes to find himself light-years from home, surrounded by aliens, and part of a crime he never meant to witness.
One alien crewmember hides him. A system patrol officer rescues him. And suddenly, Alex becomes the accidental owner of a small fortune in bounty credits… and one very unusual indentured servant.
Lost in a galaxy that doesn't even know where Earth is, Alex must navigate alien laws, new friendships, and the terrifying possibility that he may never find his way back.
Abduction. Adaptation. And the start of something bigger.
If you love character-driven sci-fi with heart, humor, and a sense of wonder, The Shepherd is your perfect next read.

Lame
Got to page 289 and quit. Gods this is a lame story. Alex the earth boy abducted by aliens with his Colt cowboy pistol and rifle. Yep that lame. Gets taken to a space station where he rattles around like a fly in a bottle. Nothing ever goes wrong for Alex. He doesn’t need to work because he’s payed millions as a victim of crime. Yeah let’s buy a big arse navy reg space ship and hunt bad guys so I can be a hero. Lame. It wouldn’t be so bad if his every movement from scratching his bum to taking a bath weren’t all described in detail. A shorter version please. Waste of data most of it.
