Have you ever read a book and started buying it as gifts before you’re even halfway through?
This was touching, beautifully written, wonderfully evocative and thoroughly deserved to be a modern classic.
In this, I could see and feel and know my grandfather, father, uncle and cousins, could understand them in a way I never had and I wouldn’t trade that for their weight in gold.
Thank you for writing something which so wonderfully enlightens those of us ‘a-step-outside’ the farming life. The ‘city-cousins’ of the world will never forget this.
