Publisher Description
Snow White is their dearest friend…and their deadliest enemy.
When Snow White fled her homeland of Allesandria after the death of her mother, she took with her only one thing: her mother’s magic mirror. Now, a spell gone wrong has shattered the mirror, freeing the demon enslaved there so many years ago. The demon’s magic distorts the heart and vision of each person it touches, and Snow is the first to fall under its power.
Snow takes Danielle’s son hostage and returns to Allesandria, determined to claim her rightful place as queen, and to take revenge against those who supported her evil mother.
As one city after another falls into darkness and evil, Danielle (Cinderella) and Talia (Sleeping Beauty) search desperately for a way to rescue Danielle’s son and free Snow from the demon’s influence. The cost of failure is war and death.
The cost of success might be the same.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Hines brings his skillfully crafted Princess Series to a close with his fourth tale (after 2010's Red Hood's Revenge) of tough princesses, deceitful fairies, and dark magic. Snow White's story merges with the tale of the Snow Queen when her mother's magic mirror shatters, leaving demon-tainted Snow able to control people with slivers of worldview-twisting glass. She abandons her companions, Danielle (Cinderella) and Talia (Sleeping Beauty) and kidnaps Danielle's son after realizing his fairy blood protects him from her magic. Talia, Danielle, and Gerta, Snow's little sister, must stop Snow before she destroys the kingdom from which she was banished. Hines fills this volume with heart-wrenching emotional scenes as well as exciting fight sequences, and brings each heroine's story arc to a reasonable conclusion. There's plenty of room for readers to imagine further adventures, but the series feels satisfyingly complete.
