It was okay
There are certainly good points about this book. The details and the backstories of the characters were great. The exploration of Hollywood life was interesting. The character’s emotions were well described. But despite all of this, it was an okay book for me. I was never a fan of one-sided POV before so not having Dante’s perspective really cut my enjoyment by half. The opening was interesting with Emilia but that didn’t really go anywhere (I’m guessing more of this will be explored in book 2). Jack suddenly disappears for half the book. Could have done more with Mama Pat. I just feel there were a lot of missed opportunities and kind of disappointed by the end of it.
