In this electrifying sequel to The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood answers the question that has tantalised readers for decades: What happened to Offred?

The Republic of Gilead is beginning to rot from within. At this crucial moment, two girls with radically different experiences of the regime come face to face with the legendary, ruthless Aunt Lydia. But how far will each go for what she believes?

Now with additional material: book club discussion points and an interview with Margaret Atwood about the real-life events that inspired The Testaments and The Handmaid's Tale.

'The Testaments is Atwood at her best . . . To read this book is to feel the world turning' Anne Enright

Exceptional “storytelling” although it is suggested having a break in time between ‘The Handmaids Tale” and it’s successor!!

Wordy for the of being wordy!

It’s not that I didn’t enjoy this book, it’s more that the formula is so different.
I trying to be more than it is and does the tv show no justice. It gives you an odd "fly on the perspective" and unfortunately it just leaves you wanting… but not in a way of a sequel.
The production of the Handmaids Tale is by far more enjoyable than the book and this (I hope)cannot be translated to tv. I find the author "wordy" for the sake of being "wordy" and always irks me. For me as a feminist female I find Margaret Atwood to be repressive and suppressive of females and never inspirational unlike June in the tv production.

Brave, womanly, thrilling and hypnotic!

What a beauty! A trip into the minds of three women. An unbelievably feminist novel situated in a misogynistic world, that talks about how strength of spirit, solidarity and love, wits and effort, patience and imagination paired with hard work, can transform each of us and the social fabric.
