The Three S Factor was conceived, not as fiction, but as a memoir and fact file that narrates Col. Arun Parasar’s personal experiences in uniform, with special emphasis on three major operations: OP MEGHDOOT (Sia Chen), OP PAWAN (Sri Lanka) and OP UNOSOM II (Somali). 

He narrates his experiences in a very lucid manner for the understanding of the cross-section of society. He explains the vagaries of uniformed life, the good and bad moments, the requirements of winning hearts and minds of the local population in a counter-insurgency area and also conducting covert and overt operations.
