Publisher Description
The complete young adult space adventure trilogy, containing "Stray", "Lab Rat One" and "Caszandra". Rescue is only the beginning...
On her last day of high school, Cassandra Devlin walked out of exams and into a forest. Surrounded by the wrong sort of trees, and animals never featured in any nature documentary, Cass is only sure of one thing: alone, she will be lucky to survive.
The sprawl of abandoned blockish buildings Cass discovers offers her only more puzzles. Where are the people? What is the intoxicating mist which drifts off the buildings in the moonlight? And why does she feel like she's being watched?
Increasingly unnerved, Cass is overjoyed at the arrival of the formidable Setari. Whisked to a world as technologically advanced as the first was primitive, where nanotech computers are grown inside people's skulls, and few have any interest in venturing outside the enormous whitestone cities, Cass finds herself processed as a 'stray', a refugee displaced by the gates torn between worlds. Struggling with an unfamiliar language and culture, she must adapt to virtual classrooms, friends who can teleport, and the ingrained attitude that strays are backward and slow.
Can Cass ever find her way home? And after the people of her new world discover her unexpected value, will they be willing to let her leave?

This is a new favourite.
I loved this trilogy (and the follow up epilogues). The plot follows an Australian high school student who accidentally walks through a dimensional 'gate' onto a new world. The book takes us through her diary entries. The plot is different to anything I've read before and doesn't feel contrived, or pat. There are really interesting and complex characters that will come to feel like family to you. I liked the Australian cultural references too. 'Stray', the first book, took me a little while to get into because it starts off with some quite necessary story foundation work. I am so glad I persevered because once the storyline started to move I was totally hooked and couldn't put it down. I hope Andrea host writes more like this.
Get lost in another world 🌎
This set of book are amazing 😉 The series follows a girl on her amazing journey too another world where she has a strange ability to make other powers more powerful .
The story itself is quite complex and very much original.
I was say it’s a mix of fantasy and science fiction with a touch of sweet romance towards the end.
The characters are strong but practical, it told in a 📔 dairy style of writing which really works - there is some swearing but this doesn’t take from the story at all.
Love 💕 this series
