From the moment I saw Ann, I knew she was perfect for me.
Her beauty and her social connections would make my miserable life so much better. It didn’t matter that I didn’t love her. I would give her the lifestyle she craved, and she would give me the life I deserved...
But soon my marriage vows were a noose around my neck.
I longed to escape my beautiful, horrible wife.
And then I saw her and I knew there was only one way out…

Gripping
“Flawless but fatal…”
The Trophy Wife is a dark, slow burning psychological thriller where, lies, jealousy, unrequited love and wealth come together to show having it all, may not always bring you happiness.
It’s protagonist Jake gave me creepy Tom Ripley vibes as he set out to create a new identity for himself, based on a series of lies. When he meets Adam at Oxford University, he models himself on him. For Jake, Adam was everything he wanted to be and wanted everything he had, which increased as we follow their friendship through the years.
Whilst I did enjoy this one in the main as I always do with Keogh’s books, there were a couple of little niggles I had, but won’t mention as I don’t want to give anything away. In the grand scheme of things though, this did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book and was still an entertaining read.
