Across the ocean, an untried young woman named Shallan seeks to train under an eminent scholar and notorious heretic, Dalinar's niece, Jasnah. Though she genuinely loves learning, Shallan's motives are less than pure. As she plans a daring theft, her research for Jasnah hints at secrets of the Knights Radiant and the true cause of the war.

This massive tome is the first of a 10-part epic fantasy series from relative newcomer Sanderson (Mistborn), best known for his efforts to complete the late Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. In a storm-swept world where history has dwindled into myth, self-serving aristocrats squabble over mystical weapons that render their bearers immune to mundane attacks. The ambitious scholar Shallan learns unexpected truths about the present, the virtuous aristocrat Dalinar reclaims the lost past, and the bitter and broken slave Kaladin gains unwanted power. Race-related plot themes may raise some eyebrows, and there's no hope for anything resembling a conclusion in this introductory volume, but Sanderson's fondness for misleading the reader and his talent for feeding out revelations and action scenes at just the right pace will keep epic fantasy fans intrigued and hoping for redemptive future installments.

Way of Kings
Brandon Sanderson has set the ground works for a remarkable world & tale. The world is very innovative and creative. The power struggle is everything I enjoy in a novel, I will treasure it time and again.
The characters are complex and full of substance. The magic / science and belief structure is a well laid out, imaginative and elegant in it's perspective. This book kept me captivated the whole journey.
Finding this book so close to it's first publication offers me one problem I both love and loath, I look forward to the next installment of this world.
I highly recommend this book to all.
Amazing
This is by far the best book in the fantasy genre I have read. It's a marathon book but well worth it. Kept me riveted through the entire book. Definitely recommend buying this book. And book2 comes out in November 2012 :)
Love it!!!
Really love this book, the mystery and lore keep me on "the edge of my seat" through to the end! Had to read it twice, so I wouldn't miss anything! But where is book 2!?!?!
