About the author
Val McDermid grew up in a Scottish mining community then read English at Oxford. She was a journalist for sixteen years, spending the last three years as Northern Bureau Chief of a national Sunday tabloid. Now a full-time writer, she divides her time between Cheshire and Northumberland. What a gripping book. An interesting plot with good twists & turns. The characters engage well with each other & the reader. Thoroughly recommend this book, it’s a very good read
Chilling
I found the beginning of this book a little hard going, however, persistent paid off. This is a truly well written crime novel. Some parts are graphically brutal, turned the stomach. The characters are well developed, and the plot is great. The interaction between characters is well written and believable.
Great story, even if it is quite chilling.
