Charley Davidson sees dead people. As grim reaper extraordinaire it's her job to convince them to 'go into the light'. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), Charlie dons her Private Investigator hat to solve the crime.
In Jones's high-energy third paranormal romantic thriller featuring smart, wickedly hilarious grim reaper and PI Charley Davidson (after 2011's Second Grave on the Left), hunky son of Satan Reyes Farrow distracts Charley from her search for the missing wife of an egotistical doctor, who's strangely unmoved by his wife's disappearance. Every time Charley closes her eyes, she summons an intense, sexually ravenous Reyes, who angrily insists that she find his stepfather, whom he was falsely accused of killing. Meanwhile, a woman who eavesdrops on angels worries Charley about the upcoming death of someone destined to become her guardian, a motorcycle gang pleads for help finding a dog killer, and Charley's family does everything they can to persuade her to go into less dangerous work. Jones pulls all the craziness together in the end while leaving plenty of open threads to pull the reader into the next installment.
