The art is presented in its historical context. Created for educational purposes and aimed at upper secondary school level. At the same time, it seeks to promote appreciation and understanding of art for the general interested reader.

Selected high quality reproductions are presented and discussed in context. This edition makes extensive use of interactivity, especially in the presentation of review questions at the end of each chapter/section, providing online feedback to students.

At the end of the book a Student Activities section provides a full taxonomically structured study and assessment package. Teachers can present students with this ebook, set an assessment schedule and leave students to work through it in their own time. A teacher answer sheet  for the written short answer section can be provided on request. This program has been tested over a number of years and has proven highly successful for teachers and students.
