An illustrated fairy tale with sound track and short movies built-in. In a house by a river, there once lived a lonely woman who wished very much to have a child. One day her wish came true. The delighted woman looked after her lovingly. But this happiness was short-lived because while she was walking beside the river Thumbelina had jumped onto a water lily and then the leaf broke off.  Suddenly she was adrift. So it is that Thumbelina started her long, dangerous trip down the river. Will she be saved?
