Tigers, Wirraways and Willow

‘I was scarping over the fences when suddenly I looked ahead and saw a line of trees. The trees had a gap in them, and the Wirraway I was flying was 43 feet wide. I made the judgement call that I could safely fit between the trees, and the closer I flew to the gap, the more confident I became that I could fit. At the last minute, I saw electricity poles behind the trees…’



Alan Maddocks was born in Melbourne, contracted polio at the age of 6, and surrounded by well-known sportsman brothers, recovered to later play cricket, football and baseball, speak fluent Japanese and develop a love for flying.



Deferring his accounting degree to serve in the Second World War, Alan joined the Royal Australian Air Force at 17 years of age.



This book shares some of Alan's exploits, adventures, life experiences and his life-changing conversion to Jesus Christ.
