Dr Mary Neal, an orthopaedic surgeon, was on a kayaking holiday in Chile. Sceptical of near death experiences, she was to have her life transformed when her kayak became wedged in rocks at the bottom of a waterfall and was underwater for so long that her heart stopped. To Heaven And Back is Mary's faith-enriching story of her spiritual journey, her first-hand experience of heaven and its continuing life-enhancing effects.

Encouraging and Compelling
An encouraging and compelling account of one woman's near-death experience and the moments in her life that led up to it and occurred afterwards, contributing to her spiritual growth.
Like Anita Moorjani, Dr Mary Neal described feeling like our lives are all part of one big tapestry. It made me think about my own life and how all the dots have connected. Even downloading this book came at the right time for me. I have been fascinated with NDEs and reading many lately from an ebook from the NDERF website. Previously, I read Anita's book and today I came across Anita's NDE in the ebook, and I remembered I had heard some time back about Mary's experience but at the time I didn't seek out her book because I encountered writing that was skeptical of her and what's termed 'heaven tourism'. I recently have become more open and immensely curious of people's stories of visiting heavenly realms, as well as in miracles that take place in our lives. I, myself, have experienced many miracles and am becoming more aware of them in my life than I've ever been before. Reading this book today in one day was a miracle in itself. I didn't plan it, but events lined up for it to happen. I recommend you read it. For me, it was more the occurrence of miracles and God's hand in our daily life that interested me than the actual NDE details. And it's cementing my thoughts that we all come here for a purpose, that we have a mission. So, I came to this book at a time in my life where I can more readily accept what it says, where previously some things I would have questioned under my strict religious beliefs. I'm grateful to be reminded of God's presence in our life and I want to continue be on the lookout for what is being communicated to me divinely… even in the most ordinary of circumstances. If you have awareness you can realise that all these supposed coincidences have much greater meaning. You can look back and see how everything in your life has much more purpose than you realised. Even the bad things you went through are not so bad… when you have a change of perspective and realise how they made you grow or led to something greater.
