Publisher Description
The Toronto Maple Leafs endured some very lean seasons in the 1950s before adding some key ingredients that enable the National Hockey League team to become a bonafide contender for the Stanley Cup championship. Defenceman Tim Horton became a regular by 1952 and Frank Mahovlich, Bob Pulford, and Dave Keon were added somewhat later. The 1958-1959 had gone further than their predecessors although they lost one sidedly to the Montreal Canadiens in the cup finals. The Maple Leafs also had a reliable veteran goalie in Johnny Bower who came along after Harry Lumley was traded to the Boston Bruins. My e-book describes particular games played by Toronto in the Original 6 team NHL that existed until expansion came along in 1967.
