Publisher Description

The transport of dissolved substances through water bodies has been studied by means of hydraulic models for many years, and by means of numerical models since the early 1960s. Many symposia have been convened to discuss the building of such models. This book, however, gives the proceedings of a symposium convened to discuss whether models, once built, are truly predictive of natural events. The authors were asked to describe their models only to the extent needed for comprehension, and to concentrate on offering analytical discussion and prototype verification of predictive ability.
