Publisher Description
Meet Charmaine Digby, human lie detector.
Char's eager to put her ability to the test as the County Coroner's new investigative assistant. But she sure never expected she'd need her eye for lies to solve a murder!
Of course, that was before she was given her first assignment. Interview the hunky doctor reporting the suspicious death of Trudy, a family friend and one of several elderly patients at the hospital whose heart mysteriously stopped.
Coincidence? More likely, there's a murderer on the loose!
In hot pursuit of the truth, Char's on the case, much to the irritation of her cop buddy, who doesn't want her to stick her nose in his investigation.
But she had better keep her eyes open or the next body on the way to the morgue could be hers!
Customer Reviews
Trudy, Madly, Deeply
In a few words I have to say it was very funny, quirky and fast paced. Char is a strong and tenacious woman that won't give up when she thinks something needs investigating, no matter the hurdles and embarrassment. Her family are a strongly opinionated but very likeable bunch and Steve Sixkiller (what a name!!) is a strong and handsome protagonist. You just wait in baited breath to find out who the killer is as much as wanting Char and Steve to get together. To find out if they do or do not, you have to read the story. Enjoy.
Thoroughly enjoyed
I was a little hesitant at first, being a free book on itunes that it may contain half a story, or poor grammar, but this was actually really enjoyable.
The characters were likeable and human, there was plenty of quick quips and slightly reminiscent of early, fun, Stephanie Plum.
Off to get the next one...!
