Brilliant and heart breaking
5 Star Review Truly Helpless A Nature of Desire Series Novel by Joey W Hill
This is one of my all time favourite series and I was so excited to be given a chance to read an ARC of this book.
Nobody writes characters that need so much work like Joey W Hill. Marius, what a truly tortured soul he was; my heart just about broke for him at times. I so wanted him to be come through the darkness and into the light and honestly if anyone could do it then it is Lady Regina, a strong, powerful Domme with a heart of gold.
It was also great to see some of my favourite people from the series make an appearance. Although a stand alone, you may get more enjoyment if you have read the previous books.
I loved this book. Truly Helpless was at times a hard and distressing story to read, and although predominately about a BDSM and D/s relationship, to me it was love story, one of courage, and sheer determination to come from a world of darkness into the light.
The main characters are Mistress Regina and Marius, an employee of The Zone and a man in need of a strong Mistress who is willing to fight for his sanity and in the process risk herself. This book was such an emoptional roller-coaster that at times, I feared that Regina would not be able to help her”sweet boy” as the dakness and the anger closed in on Marius.
The scenes are hot, yet emotional, drawing the reader in so much that you almost feel that you are witnessing it first hand.The road they travel to get to their HEA is long, winding and bumpy, but they do eventually get there.
This book, as expected with any book that Ms. Hill writes is extremely well done. A wonderful addition to one of the best series I have read and I look forward to reading more from the supremely talented Joey W Hill. 5 Stars all the way.
