PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Recent winner of two Christys, Rue (The Reluctant Prophet) returns with the second cleverly named installment of the Reluctant Prophet series about a Harley-Davidson motorcycle-riding woman, Allison Chamberlain, who hears God in her head and heart while responding to His nudges through acts of service. Also known as Big Al, Classic, and Miss Angel depending upon whom Allison is mothering or relating to this Jesus-loving single woman is living a life she never saw coming. Between leading local prostitutes and drug addicts out of their misery-ridden lives and adopting an orphaned teen, Allison is living a balancing act of responsibilities, and that is before several threats take direct aim at her and those she loves. Listening to God (and freely talking back to Him), Allison revs up her courage in persuading others of her powerful and dramatic vision of what it means to love the unlovely. Compelling and simultaneously comic, Rue wins the day with this marvelous tale of victorious love that overcomes all obstacles.
