Vigorish

John Berryman was an American writer and economist. He was also a chief executive officer of a hardware wholesale company. He wrote around two dozens of science fiction stories and a series of linked Telekinesis tales, among which is found this story.

It is presumed that there is a Lodge of psychically gifted people that trains its members to develop their powers, after which it finds them a job. A gifted surgeon is pulled from the hospital where he works and he is sent by the Lodge to the Lake Tahoe to find out how a casino is being bilked.
