"Beruhige dich, Kind. Die Berliner Mauer eröffnet nicht heute Abend." 

Calm Down, kid. The Berlin Wall is not opening tonight.”


 Yes, I was there on November 9, 1989 as the East German Democratic Republic accidentally opened the Berlin Wall and the World Changed and History Ended. Of course, it didn’t look that way from the inside. I was actually the only Western reporter IN East Berlin that night and I couldn’t get my camera crew to believe me, much less anyone else.
