After almost losing his life, foiling a terror plot that threated to draw the United States into another war—Mason Kane, disgraced American soldier, and special operations legend is still on the governments blacklist. To finally clear his name, Mason strikes a deal with the CIA—throwing himself back into the deadly world of black ops.
But when an asset tied to ISIS leads an old friend into a trap, Mason goes off the grid, and finds himself trapped in the middle of a plot involving an extremely violent and highly capable terror cell—with ties to the President’s inner circle. With the help of Renee Hart, a DOD operative, and a team of elite special ops soldiers, Mason is determined to stop an attack aimed at crippling the US military before time runs out.
Set in the shadows of the war on terror, and inspired by experiences of 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Joshua Hood, Warning Order is an action packed thriller full of shocking twists and non-stop action that throws the reader into the murky world of clandestine operations.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Hood's rousing sequel to 2015's Clear by Fire pits disgraced Special Forces operative Mason Kane against Abu al Qatar, the CIA's only asset in Syria, who (unbeknownst to his CIA handlers) has sworn to destroy America to avenge his brother's death. When a Special Forces friend of Mason's, Mick Boland, walks into a fatal trap in Syria, Mason assembles his trusted team including sniper Grinch, medic Blaine, and soldier Renee, Mason's girlfriend for an unauthorized mission to Syria to take out Mick's killers. Meanwhile, high-level U.S. government officials manipulate the military, and Mason and his crew in particular, for reasons of misplaced patriotism. Hood leans heavily on melodrama and clich d prose ("Cage's jaw muscles rippled as he absorbed the warning"), but he writes terrific battle scenes. Fans of military action thrillers will relish the climactic final battle between Mason and company and their well-armed adversaries at an abandoned American air base in Mosul.

Fantastic Action Thriller
This really was a very enjoyable read. If you like Action Thrillers, then you will love this book. Joshua Hood has done a great job with not only the storyline, but the Characters as well. Mason Kane didn’t take long to work out that something wasn’t quite right when they stormed the target house in Syria. Besides nearly getting killed he found evidence that his friend Mick Boland might have been compromised, and the enemy probably know all about him which will put in extreme danger. The Agency wanted Khalid al Hamas, a pretty high profile Iranian target who was meeting with Jamal Latif, the commander of Al Nursa. Mick Boland organised a meeting with these men through an intermediary asset of the US. Unfortunately for Mick he was double crossed and was taken prisoner by Khalid’s men. Now Mason is doing everything he can to get his friend Mick back safely, through some very hostile country, and with Jihadist everywhere. Mason doesn’t realise, but he has another problem with the National Security Advisor Jacob Simmons wanting him dead. The story moves along at a good pace, and there is always plenty of interesting things happening. This is an exciting adrenalin filled adventure, and it is definitely worth a read.
