Publisher Description
Well Done, Those Men attempts to make sense of what Vietnam did to the soldiers who fought there. It deals with the comic absurdity of their military training and the horror of the war they fought, and is unforgettably moving in recounting what happened to Barry and his comrades when they returned home to Australia.
As we now know, most Vietnam vets had to deal with a community that shunned them, and with their own depression, trauma, and guilt. Barry Heard’s sensitive account of his long journey home from Vietnam is a tribute to his mates, and an inspiring story of a life reclaimed.

Truly inspirational
Well Done, Those Men
Barry heard is an inspirational man.
This book represents his life from his childhood living in rural Victoria to his conscription into the Australian army and forced involvement in the Vietnam war and the repercussions that followed living with post traumatic stress disorder in a world that refused to respect the men that went to war against their will.
His writing keeps you entertained with witty sarcasm and vivid details that make you feel like your watching it happen. Truly an amazing book and an inspirational.
I first read this book in high school when Barry did a book tour through our district. Reading his book, considering what he's been through, shows how extremely inspirational he is to get up and speak about his life so painfully in front of so many students is amazing.
Thank you

Barry, to you and all vets and diggers both past and present, thank you and your families for the sacrifice you all have had to endure which gives us all the lifestyle we take for granted today.
I salute you all.
