Seventeen-year-old blood-witch Morgan is finding out about her wiccan ancestry. When she discovers a Book of Shadows that once belonged to her ancestor, Rose MacEwan, she makes some shocking discoveries about Rose and her life.

It is 1682 and Rose must conceal the fact that she is a witch or risk death. It is a hard time to be a Wodebayne who is in love with one of the rival Leapvaughn clan. Spurned by her lover, Diarmuid, and facing trial for witchcraft, Rose's desire for revenge unwittingly releases the Dark Wave, which will have repercussions generations into the future.
