"Like I said, you were in my bed, Willa. Where I come from, that only means one thing." The question that came over her nearly defeated him. "Willa—we will go to the town as soon as possible, and the reverend will perform the marriage…Willa?"

Her hand came up, "No, you stay right there, Calvin Masterson!" She stepped back when he moved forward. "Where did marriage come from? I don't want to marry anyone."

"You will marry me, Willamena Garrison. Just as soon as I can make it happen."

"Oh no, I won't!" And she thought she was the crazy one. "I was only giving you the heat you needed."

"I think you probably saved my life."

She nodded as she took another step back. "Probably, but I didn't expect marriage in return."
