Publisher Description
Alexander Nunes was a Westchester County building contractor with a drinking problem. The 1930 U.S. Census tells us that both of his parents were from Portugal, and that Alexander spoke Norwegian. Nunes' wife Margaret had her husband jailed for driving while intoxicated. Soon afterward the contractor killed Margaret and his stepdaughter Marie, who'd sided with her mother against him. Among many topics, my e-book looks at the early 1930s prison population at Sing Sing (Ossining State Prison). One of the zaniest characters was William "Three Gun" Turner. Imprisoned for murdering a Manhattan Policeman/speakeasy proprietor, he was on death row with Alexander Nunes.
