Regeneration: Sermon III

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. In the concluding sermon of this three-part series on spiritual rebirth, J. C. Ryle delivers a searching, practical examination of the marks and evidences of the new birth.

Addressing the widespread danger of self-deception and empty religious profession, Ryle sets forth the biblical touchstone by which every listener may test their true spiritual condition before God.

Drawing directly from the Epistles of St. John and the broader testimony of Scripture, Ryle outlines the distinguishing characteristics of every regenerated soul:

Repentance and Faith: A deep conviction and forsaking of sin, paired with a living, joyful reliance on Christ crucified as the sole foundation of salvation.

Holiness and Spiritual-Mindedness: A sincere longing for personal holiness, a meek and humble spirit, and affections set on heavenly realities rather than worldly vanities.

Victory and Fruit: Overcoming the fear of the world, delighting in the means of grace, and bearing genuine love toward God and neighbor—the fruit of true union with Christ.

Regeneration – Sermon III brings this comprehensive three-part trilogy on John 3:3 to a heart-searching conclusion. Essential listening for Christians desiring genuine assurance, biblical self-examination, and historical Reformed teaching on the practical fruits of the Holy Spirit.
