Lockwood, the new tenant of Thrushcross Grange on the bleak Yorkshire moors, is forced to seek shelter one night at Wuthering Heights, the home of his landlord. There he discovers the history of the tempestuous events that took place years before: of the intense passion between the foundling Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, and her betrayal of him. As Heathcliff's bitterness and vengeance is visited upon the next generation, their innocent heirs must struggle to escape the legacy of the past.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Emily Brontë’s gothic masterpiece still has the power to shock, and this atmospheric audiobook brings its wild passions roaring to the fore. On the remote Yorkshire moors, an orphan named Heathcliff is taken in by the Earnshaw family and falls deeply in love with their daughter Catherine. But when Catherine chooses to marry another man, Heathcliff’s heartbreak curdles into a vengeance that will consume not just the two of them, but their children as well. British actress Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus) narrates with vivid intensity, giving each character a distinct voice—her Yorkshire accents feel authentic and grounded, even the notoriously difficult dialect of the servant Joseph. It’s hard not to get swept up in the feverish emotions of this deeply strange love story, which is wilder and darker than many adaptations suggest. If you’ve never experienced Wuthering Heights—or want to fall under its spell all over again—this is an excellent way to do it.
