Love beats all the odds in this luscious, page-turning Bridgerton romance. Inspired by Cinderella, An Offer from a Gentleman follows poor, mistreated housemaid Sophie Beckett, who so desperately craves a break from her drudgery that she sneaks into the masquerade ball of the regal Benedict Bridgerton. Sparks fly between the two, but she flees the party (at midnight, of course), convinced that social status is destined to keep them apart. Thankfully, in Julia Quinn’s delightful version of Regency England, things aren’t always what they seem. It might take perseverance (and a little help from wily matriarch Violet), but Quinn keeps us hopeful that love can conquer anything—including unfair social norms and evil stepmothers. Have fun with this celebration of true love and happy endings.

Mijn eerste aanraking met Bridgerton was via Netflix, in afwachting van het volgende seizoen heb ik de boeken opgezocht. En ik ben heel blij dat ik dat gedaan heb, dit boek leest heel vlot en omvat een prachtig verhaal. Ik kijk uit naar het volgende!
