Animals of the Gippsland Lakes

This is one of the Love our Lakes Enviro-Stories books. This book is a compilation of work from students at East Gippsland Specialist School, Victoria. Each page highlights a different animal that lives in and around the Gippsland Lakes. Students participated in a workshop where they got to listen to what these animals sound like, learn where they live and what they like to eat.

The East Gippsland Specialist School provides a comprehensive curriculum for students with intellectual, physical and other disabilities. The school recognises that every child is special and that students require additional resources to enable them to succeed. Students are taught in small groups and are supported by teachers, assistants, paramedical staff and other specialists.

Enviro-Stories is an innovative literacy education program that inspires learning about natal resource and catchment management issues.
