Biofuels: Growing Toward Sustainability (Editorial‪)‬

Biofuels -- fuels derived from plant materials and other kinds of biomass -- have ridden a rollercoaster of public debate. When Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on U.S. energy supplies in 2005, biofuels came into prominence as a homegrown alternative to petroleum.
