Days Of Our Lives

It’s so painful to be a rat. You have a mouth, yet you cannot speak. Everyone wants to kill you for no reason. You walk through the rock-strewn thoroughfare instead of walking on air; and you live in constant fear of being preyed upon by cats, humans, and owls. You must always be watchful because your enemies hunt you every day. They long to devour you because you a rat with big dreams.

This book reflects on the days of rats’ lives. It depicts the challenging life experiences faced by three rats that hail from a poor rural village, comprising imperfect living prerequisites. However, these three rats that come from different unprivileged families manage to transform their miserable lives into something desirable. Despite the everyday obstacles and snares that their enemies set in their path, they succeeded in converting their lives from being rats to humans.

Even though there are three main characters in this reflection, one particular character continues until the end of this book. Through faith, hope and courage rooted in Jesus Christ, that character managed to achieve his dreams. Today, he is no longer considered a rat but rather a man of high stature. He is highly treasured, and his voice now matters. He inspires learners and those who are ready to give up in life.

This book does three things to the reader. Firstly, it makes the reader laugh because one of its aims is to relax the reader’s tensed feelings. Secondly, it does nothing other than to motivate those who have failed; motivate them to dust themselves off and rise and reach for their dreams again. Lastly, it renews the strength of those who are weak and reminds them that they can do it!
