Resumen El 80% de las muertes coronarias ocurren en personas mayores de 65 anos de edad. El 50% de las muertes en las personas mayores de 85 anos de edad se debe a la enfermedad de las arterias coronarias. El envejecimiento de la poblacion y el mejoramiento en la sobrevivencia de los pacientes con enfermedad coronaria ha estado creando una poblacion creciente de adultos anosos que son elegibles para la prevencion secundaria.
