Fake It Till You Fall

A high-powered literary agent is forced back to her quirky hometown, where a fake relationship with her former classmate just might help her rediscover what--and who--really matters.

When ambitious literary agent Claire Preston discovers her corporate shark mother, Susan, has quit her job and opened up a pottery shop in their former hometown of Pecan Corner, she leaves NYC to set her straight. But her mother not only refuses to listen to reason she tries to convince Claire to join her in this new "slow living" adventure she's pursuing. She's also determined to help Claire find the man of her dreams and keeps setting her up on dates even though Claire isn't interested.

Desperate, Claire asks her high school friend, Zander Dunaway, for help. They set up a fake dating scheme to bide time while she figures out what caused her mother's weird behavior and how to get her back on track.

Zander had a crush on Claire in high school but had mostly forgotten about her as they chased their own dreams. A former lead singer in an indie rock band, he became disillusioned and left the music business to open a record shop, Needle Drop Vinyl, in Pecan Corner. He's as laid back as Claire is uptight, and at first it seems like even a pretend relationship is impossible.

But as Claire and Zander spend more time together, they start to fall for each other, even though Claire is determined to go back to her life in New York, and Zander refuses to make a commitment. Can love change their minds, or are they once again destined to go their separate ways?
