I Am the Blast from Your Past & Other Poems

This is a collection of poems written over the last 15 years of my life. I felt it was the right time to bring everything together into my first book. The poems cover many themes: love, life, death, relationships, friends, cats, depression, suicide, other poets and grief, amongst others. There are a few laughs too, though! I have found the writing of these poems very fulfilling and if any of them reach or touch even just one person, that will make this book worthwhile. I am still in the process of 'finding my voice' poetically. This is a process that I think is an ongoing one and is part of the beauty of poetry. This book contains poems I wrote many years ago and poems I wrote recently. My style of writing has changed over the years and this is evident. It feels right to me to have brought the old and the new together and to be able to see the gradual changes of writing styles.
