Jason Crawford is a nobody. Born the son of a delusional scientist, he became a nameless orphan and was shuffled through the system. Brutalized by foster parents, who used him as a canvas to perfect tattoo art. He was forced into the dark world of back-alley, bare-knuckle prizefighting just so he could eat. Then Jason moved into mixed martial arts (MMA) and ultimate fighting championship (UFC), however, his world changed when he discovers that he has a sister. In his desperate search for her, he meets Angela, and a modern love affair begins. He learns that his sister is a Symbolist, and belongs to an underground organization called the Symbolic Sector Agency. Forces threaten Jason and his sister by their very existence, yet, Jason has a power even he does not suspect, as the marks of his wasted youth hold the key to defeating his dangerous enemies when his tattoos come to life.
