Inside Stories

It’s a phenomenon. When trying to figure out what these illustrations are about, they will mean something different to everyone. In fact, what they mean to you will speak to you about what is going on in your life at the moment. Maybe it’s relationship or financial issues or a big decision you are weighing. You might find that these stories are actually quite insightful.


Inside Stories is a collection of illustrations without captions. Just a title. It's up to you to figure out what they are about. They will mean something different to everyone, and you might find them to be revealing.


For example, I asked my 10 year old to tell me what she thought "The Best Friend" was about and and she thought the mouse was "showing off". She in fact has 3 siblings and they often bother her when they "show off".


Very interesting.


This idea was inspired by Chris Van Allsburg's book "The Mysteries of Harris Burdick", which I think is an amazing book. 


The original marker art is by Jorge Goyco. He's been creating this sort of artwork for years and has filled many sketchbooks with illustrations. The art in this book was based on some of his favorites, scanned in, recreated and colored in Adobe Illustrator.
