Where Tradition Meets Innovation

Since 1878, the Johns Hopkins University Press has disseminated world-class knowledge using the most creative and inventive technologies of the day.

Today, the JHU Press is one of the world’s largest university presses, publishing—in print and digitally—80 scholarly journals and nearly 200 new books each year. We are also home to Project MUSE, a leading online database of digital humanities and social sciences content, and HFS, an order processing, collection management, warehousing, and fulfillment service operation for a distinguished and growing list of university presses and nonprofit institutions.

With a talented and enthusiastic staff and world-class authors and editors, the JHU Press is proud to continue its long tradition of publishing works that engage both the scholarly community and the general society at large. The Press has an interesting story to tell, and we invite you to learn more about what’s new and exciting at America’s oldest university press.
