Leif Segerstam
Swedish opera singer and librettist Elisabeth Wärnfeldt sets out to find the roots of her art through poetry. As a mother and an artist she writes about living and cherishing the now. From the moment of it’s inception, “Red” grew to become a deeply personal project, so Elisabeth decided to record the performance of some of the poems and illustrate them with her grandfather's sketches.
The contributions of Finnish maestro and composer Leif Segerstam originated during his collaboration with Elisabeth Wärnfeldt on the opera Völvan.
While reading, you can listen to Elisabeth Wärnfeldt reciting her poems and Leif Segerstam improvising on the piano. Or zoom in to marvel at charcoal sketches from a hundred years ago and study the sheet music of Leif Segerstam’s compositions.
“Red” is a trilingual edition (Swedish, English and German).
